Filter your charts

As soon as respondents start filling out your survey you can view the results in real-time in the report with charts and filters. This report can be filtered so that the charts are updated to only show the filtered results.

You can even embed separate charts per filter for the same question into your dashboard.

You can add two types of filters:

Both types will be discussed in this article.

 

Adding filters based on contact data

When you use a panel to distribute your survey, you can filter on all of the contact data you have imported into your account.

  1. Sign in to CheckMarket.
  2. Click on Surveys and open your survey.
  3. Click on Analyze and select Report with charts and filters. A new tab will open. Allow your report to load entirely before proceeding with the next steps.
  4. Click on the button Advanced Filtering in the top left corner.

  1. Here you can filter on all contact data, such as language, date responded, group,  age, custom fields, etc.

  1. Select the desired filters and click Apply.

Your report with charts and filters will now be updated accordingly and you will see an overview of all applied filters in the top left area of your screen.

To edit or undo a filter, click on Edit filter and remove or adjust the applied filters. To undo all filters at once click on Clear.

 

Adding filters based on responses

Using one-click filtering you can easily filter your report on all respondents who gave a specific answer. In the same way you can exclude certain responses from your charts.

  1. Sign in to CheckMarket.
  2. Click on Surveys and open your survey.
  3. Click on Analyze and select Report with charts and filters. A new tab will open. Allow your report to load entirely before proceeding with the next steps.
  4. You now have two options:
    • Filter on respondents who gave a specific response: click on the chart area representing the answer you wish to filter on. The report will reload now containing only respondents who gave that particular answer.     • Exclude all respondents who gave a specific response: hold down the Shift button while clicking on the chart area representing that response. An overview of all applied filters is visible in the top left area of your screen.

To undo a specific filter, simply click on the chart again or you can click the X next to a specific filter shown in the top left area. To undo all filters at once, click on Clear.

You can also combine filtering on contact data and filtering on responses to get very specific results from your report with charts and filters. Feel free to play with the endless possibilities.

Tip! One-click filtering also works for a specific word in our response clouds. Simply click on that word and the report will reload for all respondents who provided a response containing the specific word.
